Stressing about not doing homework for class because its too much work? Procrastination is one of the biggest issues high school students face. They rather spend time with activities that they enjoy and when time passes their won't be enough time for homework. Procrastination can cause stress since homework is basically the only thing you can think about. In the article the say that procrastination can cause anxiety. It is also caused by lack of time management. If students can control their time management would they procrastinate less?  Will they perform better in school?

  1. I can agree to what this article is saying. When I procrastinate, probably like how I am doing so right now by waiting until 8:30 pm on a Sunday to post a comment, I can relate to what it feels like to be frustrated like a victim as the article points out. I don't think procrastination has as much to do with time management as it does with self confidence. When we procrastinate, we over estimate ourselves when we say "oh, it usually takes me 3 hours to do a paper" when we have a paper that is due in a week. We think it is like our normal paper, so the deadline seems extra long until we sit down and realize how exactly why we needed a week to do that paper. In a time and age, it's easy to overestimate ourselves when information is literally just a click away. Another factor does have to do with leisure time which is pretty relatable. When you get home from school, do you really want to start on homework as soon as you walk through the door? No, at least, if you're like the majority. A video game and a movie later, we find that we just lost track of time in ourselves. It's no fun to have to constantly be on top of yourself, but in the question of time management, I think an easier way to solve that is to figure out your priorities first.

  2. This was a really interesting article but to answer your question: no i do not think time management will cause less procrastination i think that the main cause of lessening procrastination is an increase in drive and motivation. That same increase will also positively affect grades and over all performance in school.

  3. I found this article very interesting because I myself have problems with procrastination. Managing my time generally doesn't help me. When I get home from school I don't want to spend even more time working I want to relax for a little but before I know it it's late and I don't have much time to complete all my home work. So then I put it off for the next day and think I can complete homework during another class or the period before. I believe the best way to help with procrastination is to find the motivation to actually work and maybe put away cell phones so you have one less distraction.

  4. This was a very good topic to choose and write about because this directly effects 95% of us. I do not however agree with time management helping ones personal procrastination. Just because you can keep track of your schedule does not mean you will get home and do all your homework for 3 hours. I feel like many of us are not too busy, but cannot handle just being in school and doing homework as our whole entire day. We want to hang out with friends, exercise, and do anything to stay away from our homework. So will time management and procrastination affect our grades of course, it just matters if we have the drive and the ability to do everything we have to. What are some little things we could do to procrastinate less?

  5. I feel like procrastination isn't necessarily caused by not being able to manage time well. I procrastinate mainly because I feel bored, or just don't want to do the work. However, I do believe that less procrastination will allow people to perform better in school. Less procrastination means sleeping more, which means I don't have to spend most of my time in school trying not to fall asleep.

  6. Procrastination happens to all or almost all of us. Procrastination can be caused by a lot a things. I procrastinate because i'm bored or too lazy to do homework or anything except things I actually enjoy. I do agree that if we could less the amount of procrastination we would do better in school plus more rest and have more time for fun things without the weight of homework on your shoulders.

  7. Managing time is problem that almost all of us face. From my own experience, I do feel anxious, and that feeling will not go away until what I needed to do is completed. Does procrastination affect school performance? Sure I believe so, but managing your time well will not guarantee good grade, you must have motivation and a strong will to resist the things we want to do instead of work.

    1. Procrastination does affect school performance since the work will be done late in the day, which can mean that more time is spent on it. If you manage your time will you can do homework and still do all the things you want to do.

  8. I don't think its the matter of time but the matter is what people would rather be doing because procrastination is caring out less urgent matters for more urgent and pleasurable one and leaving the less urgent ones to a last minute time

  9. I do believe procastination can make things really stressful when it comes to homework because when you stop or forget to do homework it just racks up and your grade can plumbit

  10. I think it comes down to whether or not you really want to do the assignment or not, whether you want to do good in school or not, that's up to you. I think that if students did use their time better they could get a lot more done, and also do way better in school, but in the end that's really up to you.
