E-Cigarettes

Are E-Cigarettes bad for you? Maybe, maybe not, many people don't know what the ingredients are used in E-Cigarettes expect for one. Nicotine. But what does nicotine do to the body? Most people know that nicotine is very addictive but it does more to your body than that,Nicotine affects your heart, brain and nervous system. It raises your blood pressure and heart rate which can lead to cardiac arrest. Furthermore nicotine is highly toxic, it was even used as a bug pesticide not so long ago. However E-Cigarettes are still no where even close to how dangerous regular Cigarettes are,

So here are some questions to ponder:
Do you think that E-Cigarettes are a good substitute  for tobacco?
Do you think that E-Cigarettes should be regulated like tobacco?
And lastly do you think that E-Cigarettes should be sold to minors(Cuz it is in some states)

Me I am personally pro E-Cigarette, bet you didn't see that coming did ya. Plot twist!

  1. I find this quite interesting seeing as how we are bringing this topic up in the congressional simulation. my personal opinion is that it should have the same regulations as cigarettes I do think that the flavors should stay. because if you take that away people can still make their own.

  2. I think that E-cigs are a good substitute for the classic cigarette smoker. Someone brought a good point up in the Congressional Stimulation that teens that have never smoked a cigarette, but smoke e-cigs and I found that so true. E-cigs aren't meant for more teens to start smoking, but to give an alternate for regular cigarette users.. I thought that was a good point, but I don't think E-cigs are bad at all. Teens smoke all the time, and since it's already such a big product, there's no stopping it now.

  3. This article is very interesting but I as well believe that e cigs are a good substitute for tobacco users because also as mentioned in the congressional simulation someone said that e cigs were meant to help smokers quite smoking.

  4. I personally think that there is still future health risks by smoking e-cigarettes because we do not specifically know what the chemicals in the flavoring can do to your body. Also, we do not now how bad the second hand smoke is with this product because it has chemicals to make the flavoring. I do agree with using it as a substitute for tobacco products, but i think it should be prescribed by a doctor. although it can't be prescribed yet because there is no official study.

  5. I think that it's possible for e-cigs to become a major problem in the near future. Honestly, I believe that e-cigs might be worse than cigarettes and are more of a risk. E-cigs COULD turn out to be better for you than cigarettes, but then again, they could turn out to be far worse than cigarettes ever were. I think that if I were to ever smoke, it wouldn't be an e-cigarette as you really don't know what harmful effects you may be putting on your body as a result of believing that e-cigs aren't harmful.

  6. These E-cigs are bad news. Right after the FDA spent millions of taxpayer dollars going on a crusade against cigarettes (and don't get me wrong, money well spent) which was extremely successful, another tobacco product comes along. Most teens agree that cigarettes are pretty nasty. They mess up your lungs, mouth, and cause cancer. All of this is known, and because of this, teens are probably not going to want to smoke cigarettes.

Enter E-cigs. In a world dominated by electronics, here's a cool high tech gadget which completely rebrands cigarettes. The appeal to teens is huge, and completely undoes all of the work the FDA put in to get teens and people in general off nicotine. E-cigs shouldn't be sold to teens, but also shouldn't even be marketed to teens. And E-cigs should be regulated EXACTLY the same as normal cigarettes and tobacco products (with warning labels). In this case, I believe "guilty until proven innocent" applies, for until scientific research is done, we simply cannot trust Ecig companies to tell the truth. Lets be honest, cigarette companies knew that cigarettes were bad years before the first official outside study was published. Until the science proves they are healthy, better be safe than sorry.

  7. I believe that for a traditional cigarette smoker choosing e-cigs instead is a great substitute, but overall I feel that it is absolutely not something that should be marketed or sold to minors, the same way that cigarettes are regulated should be the way that ecigs should be, we have no idea what the health problems that these could cause.

  9. I think e-cigs are a better alternative to tobacco, however, since it still contains the nicotine and is addictive, I disagree with its use. According to the article, there were better ways to overcome addictions to nicotine. I definitely think it should be regulated and strongly disagree with the idea of it being sold to minors. It has an addictive drug! Minors should not be dealing with addiction (in fact no one should). I vote no for e-cigs!

  10. I think that e-cigs are a better alternative, but i do think they should be regulated. Right now we don't know how bad they can be for someone so that might be hard to do. If they aren't harmful that would be great and it would help a lot of people.

  11. I believe that e cigs and vapes aren't really that affective as cigarettes are in people lives because thousands of people have died from smoking cigarettes but not that many or none from smoking e cigs.

  12. The article makes me think about how e-cigs are still very harmful although they don't have the tobacco like a normal cigarette. Although, personally I do think e-cigs are a much better alternative. I can't stand cigarettes, they smell so so bad and have the absolute worst side effects! I don't think that e-cigs should be abused and sold to minors but they should be used by adults who wish to escape cigarette addictions.

  13. I believe that anything that hasn't come naturally from the earth might not be the best for your body, however tobacco is natural and is worse for you than E-cigarettes are. I think that neither should be desirable to you either way

  14. I think that E-cigs are better for you than a regular tobacco cig. Minors shouldn't have them sold to them, because it is a drug, but it shouldn't be illegal for a minor to have one. I don't feel as though they are terribly bad for you.

  15. I think these are good substitutes for cigarettes. They should not be regulated like cigarettes and they should NOT be sold to minors.
