                         http://drugfacts4youngpeople.com/why-some-teens-use-drugs

Many people may concern why do teenagers use drugs, and what are the factors make teens want to use drugs? This article will talk about the reasons of teens using drugs.

Many parents may thinks that teenagers don't have stress, and they are wrong; teenagers get stress, and bad moods from school, friends, or their family. Some teenagers may not find a way to express in a positive way, so they find an escape in drug. Being a teenager is very hard because they are being introduced into the real world, and they are the pre-adults which means that they have to think and and take actions in a more responsible way, but some teens can handle that. They will be depressed and want to stop thinking to much, and this is the cause of teens using chemical solutions to make themselves feel better. Parental influence is one of the biggest causes for teenagers to use drugs. Parents are like a mirror to their children, a lot of teenagers choose to use drug because they see their parents do so. These are just some common causes of teens using drugs, there are so many other causes that make teenagers use drugs.

I think using drugs is not a good and right way to solve problems that we have because using drugs can not help anything but make you become worse. If we have any stress, pressure, or bad moods we can overcome theses in a positive way, such as taking or sharing your issue with friends and parents, and they can give you good advices. Taking drugs is not a good way to release yourself.

What other causes do you think would make teens use drugs?
What some ways teens can release their stress?
What would you when you have stress other than using drugs?

  1. I think something that the article doesn't go into detail about and we learned in health class is that people think that because they were prescribed a drug by a doctor they think they can't get addicted to it. I believe that a great way for everyone especially teens to deal with stress is to exercise. Exercising plays a vital part not only in being physically healthy, but also mentally healthy as it helps people focus on something other than what they are worrying about. Additionally, in a way exercising can make you feel "high" because of the release of endorphins has a similar effect to the body as dopamine does to the brain.

  2. About the article, I think that teenage drug use is usually related to stress within their life. It is a negative way to cope with stress with drugs but usually teens are trapped or boxed in and can not find a way to cope with it positively. I think teens are also influenced by their social circle especially the ones that are not physically active with extracurricular activities. Personally I just drift off to music and usually deal with it by doing things that I really love. What most people perceive easy to avoid is what makes the awareness of teen use of drugs get out hand as most teens are not educated and not fully aware of the consequences.

  3. The other reason why teens use drugs is if teens see their friends do it so to them they think it is okay to do it.I have a way to help teens release their stress is to talk to somebody like their parents or councilor to help them. If i have stress I just talk to my brothers or play my video games

  4. I think some of the other causes for teenagers to resort to drugs is out of boredom, stress, and of course peer pressure. And as usual there are other ways that you can relieve stress, you can hang out with friends, listen to music, create art, and do other things they enjoy. When I'm stressed instead of using drugs I like to paint, listen to music, and hang out with my friends.

  5. Another way that makes teens want to take drugs is that they feel trapped because of school or parents and want to get anyway from it. Teens also may do drugs because of anxiety or depression. I think hobbies, relaxing and having time to their self relives stress. I would skateboard, listen to music and hangout rather than taking drugs.

  6. This article is a little vague but does state the most obvious facts on this topic. Another cause that can make a teenager want to use drugs could be that they know how strong drugs feel from after a injury or illness, and want to get that type of high back. Some ways teens can release their stress is by playing sports, going into a hobby, or being around loved ones. What I do when I'm stressed is that i like to watch videos or go out to eat with my friends. These activities help take my mind off of things and really put me at ease.

  7. I think that this article does prove the point that drugs are not the solution to mental diseases that can be treated through other methods but when teens are affected by stress and come down with depression they do expirience a weakness towards drugs. Depression can leave teens vulnerable to the welcoming of drugs and all it takes is once.I see that you mentioned parental influence is a major thing in this and its i think its not only that but there surroundings in everyday life. They're friends, family, acquaintances, ETC. When i deal with stress I usually put my focus on something productive like working out or doing a form of art that is known to be relaxing.
